Hi, I’m Kira DeDecker (“key-ra dee-decker”) and I’m a pet photographer serving Arizona’s greater Phoenix Metro area. Welcome to my blog! This is where I share not only my most recent work but also my life with you. Client sneak peeks, Facebook recaps, announcements, updates, awesome new offerings and the occasional (okay, frequent) story about my crazy but amazing life with my three dogs – Sox, Bixby and Waffles.
Pull up a chair and make sure it’s nice and comfy because you will want to stay awhile. It’s great to have you here!
I love details shots. Okay, so maybe detail shots of spit bubbles may seem a little weird to some people but to me they tell me a story about my dog’s very being.
Sox is very food motivated so when I’m holding something particularly tempting in my hand that he wants (something like string cheese or peanut butter) his eye’s get big and his tail starts waging uncontrollably and before I know it his bottom lip start quivering and he starts getting small beads of spit and foam on and around his mouth. So maybe to you these are just photos of my dog’s spit but to they’re photos of my dog’s unbridled enthusiasm for something he truly enjoys.

Omg, my Chihuahua does that and if I take a second or two too long, she hasa big spit bubble at the side of her mouth and big drools when she gets the treat! Lol!

I LOVE detail shots. If you don’t mind me asking, what lens did you use for these? A macro? My dogs are the same way – they can’t drink water without dripping it around our entire house. Sometimes I feel like I live in a pool! Great shots!

I never mind being asked questions! Yup, it’s a 100mm Macro lens. I use to do a lot of Macro photography before I started shooting dogs.
